Information we collect

When you subscribe to updates, we collect your email address. When you add a listing link, we store the Rightmove property ID, the URL you submitted, and page metadata (title, description, image) fetched from that URL to display it. We do not fetch or scrape data from Rightmove itself.

When you create an account, we record the IP address your signup request came from against that account, in addition to using it in the moment to enforce rate limits.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall site usage — pages viewed, referring sites, approximate location, and browser/device type. This is cookieless and does not use cross-site tracking identifiers, so it does not identify you personally.

If you arrive at a property page from House Price Guess (housepriceguess.com), the link carries a public game identifier and a placement label describing where on that site you clicked through (for example, a round reveal or a results page). We record how many times each combination of that game, placement, property ID, page outcome, and action (arriving, clicking through to another listing site, clicking through to Rightmove, or starting or submitting a new link) occurs each day, as an aggregate count only. We do not store your IP address, browser/device details, a session or visitor identifier from House Price Guess, or any other identifier that could tie this activity back to you individually — this measurement tells us how well the handoff between the two sites works in aggregate, not which visitor did what.

How we use it

We use newsletter details to manage subscriptions. We use submitted links and their metadata to show alternative listings for a property, and request metadata such as your IP address to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse. A signup's IP address is kept against the account for the same anti-abuse purpose, and to help us investigate suspicious account activity. We use the aggregate House Price Guess referral counts described above to measure and improve that handoff, and to prioritise which properties most need an alternative listing link added. We do not sell these details.

Retention and service providers

Data is stored using Cloudflare services. We retain data only while needed for the purposes above, operational security, and applicable legal requirements.

You can unsubscribe from newsletter updates at any time. To request access, correction, or deletion of other personal information, use the contact details included in a message you receive from Rigove.
